Description:
Flying in mountainous areas presents many challenges such as higher operational altitudes, increased winds, and limited weather reporting. In addition, more rugged terrain results in fewer off airport landing opportunities and carry an increased risk for accidents resulting in fatalities. This presentation will discuss some of the challenges related to mountain flying, ways pilots can seek out mountain flying training, and some of the rapidly changing weather that can be associated with this type of flying.
This presentation will be followed by a CFI/DPE Forum.
