The following webinar may be of interest to you: “June Topic of the Month – Aftermarket Safety Equipment” Topic: Preventing Accidents Through Technology On Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 15:00 Eastern Daylight Time (12:00 PDT, 13:00 MDT, 14:00 CDT, 09:00 HST, 11:00 AKDT, 12:00 Arizona, 19:00 GMT) Select Number: SO13100545 Description: A number of technologies have proven useful in reducing the likelihood of general aviation accidents. For example, the helicopter and bush pilot communities as well as aerobatic pilots increasingly wear helmets and multi-point restraint systems for safety. As with all technologies, pilots must be thoroughly familiar with limitations and proper operation of after-market equipment. We will discuss safety equipment that you can add to your aircraft, emphasizing restraint systems and tips for expeditious aircraft egress, possibly even in the dark or under water. We will also touch on synthetic vision and angle of attack (AOA) indicators. Lastly, we will discuss pilot proficiency and why it remains the most profound influence on flight safety.
