South Carolina Aviation Week is August 14-20, 2022
SC Aviation Week exists to promote airports and the state’s aviation industry by highlighting how our airports and related businesses contribute to our economy, and the legislation that impacts the state airport system. Each year, South Carolina Aeronautics Commission and South Carolina Aviation Association partner together on this initiative, and Governor Henry McMaster has proclaimed August 14-20, 2022, South Carolina Aviation Week.

Saturday, August 20 What: FOD Walk Where: Greenville Downtown Airport – 100 Tower Drive, Greenville Time: 6:45 am Come out and start your day by walking on the runways and taxiways to help keep GMU safe! The airport’s annual SC Aviation Week FOD Walk will be Saturday, August 20. Gather at the terminal lobby no later than 6:45 a.m. to begin the FOD walk promptly at 7:00 a.m. Please bring a flashlight.

Preventing Runway Incursions and Enhancing Runway
The Grand Strand Air Traffic Control will convene their annual Runway Safety Action Team Meeting (RSAT). This interactive meeting will involve pilots, airport operations personnel, air operators, and any other stakeholders interested in runway operational safety at the Myrtle Beach International Airport.

Every other Sunday since 1938, pilots and aviation enthusiasts meet for breakfast in South Carolina airports. There are no dues or meeting requirements. Fly in or drive to the airport, belly up, and talk aircraft, aviation or anything else. This event is free to attend, and breakfast is typically $6-10 per plate.
