Bombardier earned revenue of $6.9 billion and had a profit of $930 million last year, coming in ahead of its estimated revenue of $6.5 billion and $825 million profit. The company, which had 123 deliveries in 2022, has sold off various business enterprises since 2015 to focus on production of its Challenger and Global business jets.

Airport Focus

Perry Lefors Field Airport in Pampa, Texas, has installed a new rotating beacon that is easier to maintain and less expensive to operate, with the old World War II-era beacon gaining a new home at the Freedom Museum USA. The airport is also nearing completion on the addition of new runway lights and an edge lighting system, and a visual approach light system at each end of the main runway is next on the agenda.

Three new pilots were looking for a way to get more flying time, so they decided to start their own flying club at Daviess County Airport in Washington, Ind., and split the cost of a 1963 Cessna 172 aircraft. Feds looking at rules that have curbed drone deliveries

Federal rules governing the use of drone aircraft are holding back companies interested in making deliveries that way, panelists said at the recent CES 2023 in Las Vegas. But help might be on the way this year in the form of revised regulations, says FAA official Abigail Smith, who added that "safety is our North Star."

The Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum, located in Amelia Earhart’s birthplace of Atchison, Kan., is scheduled to open on April 14, with exhibits including the last remaining Lockheed Electra 10-E aircraft and a virtual reality display allowing visitors to fly in Earhart’s aircraft on her 1932 trans-Atlantic flight. The new museum also has a focus on STEM topics, such as engineering, celestial navigation and technological advances in aviation.
