Stratolaunch has successfully completed six test flights of its Roc carrier aircraft, the platform for launching its Talon-A hypersonic vehicle. "We will leverage this flight experience as we complete integrated testing in the coming months and prepare for Talon-A test flights," said Stratolaunch CEO and President Zachary Krevor.

Aviation Update

A review of Boeing's economic impact on Alabama finds that the aerospace company supports 9,000-plus jobs while contributing $2.7 billion a year to the state's economy. "For six decades, Alabama and Boeing have shared a partnership of innovation, growth and prosperity," said Cindy Gruensfelder of Boeing Missile and Weapon Systems.

Airport Focus

Crystal River Airport-Capt. Tom Davis Field in Crystal River, Fla., is planning to extend the runway by 645 feet to enhance safety and enable private and corporate jets to land there. The $7.1 million project will be funded by the state and is expected to be finished by July 2025.

Wisk Aero is working with the government of South East Queensland in Australia to establish future advanced air mobility services in the region. "We expect to see the emergence of advanced air technology in places like Paris and Los Angeles, and by 2032, I'd love to see it supporting new and innovative experiences for tourism and travel in South East Queensland," said Lord Mayor of Brisbane Adrian Schrinner.
